Last night on The Late Show With David Letterman, Vanessa told Dave the tattoo was inspired by a moment where a butterfly landed on her mother’s stomach a week before she was born, and by her name, which is a “Latin derivative” of the word “butterfly.”
“I’m very excited about it. I just got it. It’s hard to … it’s right there,” Vanessa said, removing her hair off her neck to reveal her new ink.
